Hydrogen is an ideal medical gas that is able to act at the cellular level and could be a candidate for novel therapeutic strategies against cardiac and brain cancers, metabolic and respiratory diseases. From its initial beginnings, research on hydrogen molecules has evolved over a long period of time, although important results have been achieved.
Progress in the study of hydrogen therapeutic mechanisms:
Hydrogen treatment of diseases is mainly based on its endogenous antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cellular modulation effects.
Oxidative damage is the initiator of the body's inflammatory response and apoptosis in complex diseases such as cancer and fibrosis
Therefore, the anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects of hydrogen are closely related to its antioxidant effects.
